Becki Newton
Becki Newton, born from New Haven in Connecticut, was born at Guilford in Connecticut. Her parents are of English and Czech descent. Her first stage appearances were in theaters around the area. In European History. Newton in European History, who was one of the Penn student, was a member Alpha Chi Omega. Newton following her graduation from Penn University in 2006, relocated from Penn to New York City where she landed roles on television for companies such as Olive Garden. Newton took on the role Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 through 2010. Newton along with co-star Michael Urie co-hosted The Official Ugly Betty Blog. Newton also appeared in ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours series of webisodes. Ugly Betty was canceled in 2010. It was after four consecutive seasons that were successful, that allowed the show a proper series finale. In the latter part of 2009, Newton appeared at a New York City Center Encores! Jerry Zaks was the director of this Gershwin production called Girl Crazy. Her partner Chris Diamantopoulos performed with her in the role of Molly Gray. Newton was a part of the TV series Love Bites. Cindy Chupack created the hour-long romantic comedy. She also served as an executive producer for Sex and the City. NBC originally announced its plans to pick up Love Bites in May 2010. However, after Newton disclosed her pregnancy and co-star Jordana spiro was contractually obligated by the My Boys My Boys to carry on the show the show, it was moved to mid-season.
